MY STORY

Art has always been my way of expressing what words cannot

The Artist Behind BromvikArt

I’m Ann-Marie Brömvik, an artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
I have painted and drawn for more than thirty years. Art has always been my way of giving form to feelings, ideas and impressions that can be difficult to put into words.

My work is guided by strength, elegance, contrast and movement.
I am drawn to the balance between control and spontaneity, and to creating art that leaves room for each viewer to experience something of their own.

For much of my working life, I have also been surrounded by designers, engineers and creative minds in the automotive world.
That balance between creativity and precision has stayed with me and continues to influence how I paint.

Music is one of my strongest sources of inspiration. It can be a classical composition or a few notes in a heavy metal song. When something resonates with me, it creates a feeling that needs somewhere to go.

If I could sing, perhaps it would come out that way. Instead, I let it find its way onto the canvas. This is also why my work can move between different styles while still feeling connected.

My Art and Inspiration

From Figurative to Abstracts

Drawing has been part of my life since childhood. As I grew older, I began exploring life drawing, which deepened my interest in the human form, movement and expression. From there, I moved into painting, first experimenting with oils and later with acrylics.

Later, I discovered drip art and was drawn to its energy, movement and unpredictability.

After working with drip art for some time, I found my way into abstract painting. Each period has given me something different, and traces of them can still be found in the way I work today.
The human form, movement, contrast and emotion continue to return, even when the final expression changes.
